Can money turn Planned Parenthood into an adoption ally? I will write many more pieces about the evil and racist eugenics of Planned Parenthood, but what follows is a very practical proposal to maybe save some more lives.
Planned Parenthood is a corporation working in a free market. They provide services in exchange for money. In spite of their activist public face and religious zeal for the sacrament of abortion, they are ultimately a company dependent on making money and meeting financial obligations. Every modern corporation presents an idealistic image of making the world a better place, but it’s always the bean counters and shareholders who set the agenda in the end. So what if there was a way for us to make adoption assistance more lucrative for Planned Parenthood than abortion? Last year, Planned Parenthood’s total adoption referrals fell by 25% to just under 3000 total. That means that for every one adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performs 118 abortions.
There is no money in adoption referral for Planned Parenthood. We already know from former Planned Parenthood workers that they train their staff in high-pressure sales tactics to sell abortion, which is their most profitable service.
What it that changed? If government policy could make adoption referrals more profitable to Planned Parenthood than abortion, would we start to see some of those numbers go down? If the government offered Planned Parenthood $900 for every adoption referral, would that mean a decrease in the number of $600 abortion services?
Maybe this is a naïve proposal. Maybe Planned Parenthood is, in fact, more of a religious cult than a corporation. But I would be willing to give this a try and put up my own tax dollars if it meant saving a few more lives.
