John MacArthur Mistakenly Booked As Keynote Speaker For National Women In Ministry Conference

REDDING, CA- A sweating John MacArthur took the stage Sunday night at the annual National Women in Ministry Conference in Redding, CA, after mistakenly being scheduled as this year’s keynote speaker.

“It was a complete accident,” conference organizer Bethany Morrison told The Petty Prophet. We had originally meant to book popular Christian author and lifestyle guru Joan MacArthur, but I guess there was a clerical error somewhere along the line.”

Silence fell over the more than 2,000 women pastors, preachers, and Bible teachers in attendance as MacArthur ascended the stairs to the podium.

After a few moments, the 80-year-old writer, pastor, and rock star of the Reformed church spoke.

“Go home.”

The confused attendees responded with mild applause as MacArthur stepped back from the podium and descended the stairs.

“Well, I was really hoping he would use his decades of ministry experiences and expertise in order to teach us how to explain the holiness of our perfect, triune God to a young, broken generation who often believe their lives are devoid of meaning. But, I mean, I guess that was good too,” a 22-year-old youth pastor from inner-city Detroit remarked afterward.
