Restaurants Offering Free Lunch For Veterans, Free Crayons For Marine Infantry

PERRYSBURG, OH- On Veterans Day, restaurant chains and small businesses across the country show their appreciation to veterans with a free meal. This year, to accommodate the special needs of thousands of Marine Corps Infantry Veterans, many restaurant chains are now adding crayons and Elmer’s glue to their Veterans Day menu.

“We had no idea we were excluding so many of our nation’s finest with our traditional menu offerings,” said Steven Layt, Vice President of Applebees. “We decided to remedy this by offering delicious assortments of crayons for all our Marine Infantry guests.” Crayon flavors will include True Blue, Bold Gold, and Bloodshed Red.

Other chains have picked up on this trend, seeing an opening to attract new business from an under-served clientele. Olive Garden will be serving a complimentary Menu #12 Spicy Penne Pasta. Waffle House will be offering a one-time exclusive cheese and veggie omelet.

Perhaps our favorite Marine Corps deal can be found at Golden Corral. For Veterans Day only, they will be replacing their entire buffet menu with nothing but beef jerky, Skoal, Otis Spunkmeyer muffins, Rip-It, and N/A Beer.

I think I’ll be going for the crayons. UURRRRR!

Happy Veterans Day to all my brothers from 1st Battalion, 24th Marines. Semper Fi!
