WASHINGTON, DC – In an interview with Fox News reporters in front of the Lincoln Memorial, President Trump criticized President Lincoln for his slow response to slavery.
“Look- Lincoln was a great guy, ok? Maybe the greatest. Some say, anyway. I don’t know. But there are others I’ve heard, and these are good people I hear this from, ok, that say Abraham Lincoln was a hack. Not my words! I’m just saying that some people think that! And if we’re being honest? Abe was a little too slow in ending slavery. Some say too slow. And he spent a lot of money and destroyed a lot of lives to do it! If I’d have been there, it would have ended it faster, much faster. I would have made a deal. No war necessary. I would have ended slavery in a week, tops.”
